The working environment of Starkey Olivier Architects in Knysna is an open-plan, light filled space and has been established largely as a studio environment to encourage and facilitate interaction between individuals. A large space comprising a multi-functional work table as well as a white board and printers provides a space for group discussions, general design interaction and for the building of architectural models and compiling of design presentations. A lounge area for relaxed interaction and discussions includes a screen for presentation purposes and along with a private boardroom area completes the office arrangement.
Partners
Having graduated from the University of Port Elizabeth (currently NMMU) in South Africa, a design oriented school of architecture, both Jerome Starkey and Nick Olivier have a keen sense of the aesthetic make up of the built environments in which they exist and apply their trade. Having formed RNI Design Architects in 2004 and later Starkey Olivier Architects, both architects have had the opportunity to act as the design & project leads on all the projects on which they have worked. As a part of the present and future architectural community of the Garden Route, both partners are active members of the Architectural Forum of Knysna and Plettenberg Bay (AFKP) and are members of various aesthetic and design review committees associated with the town of Knysna and its surrounds.
